Our owner, James “Buck” Durham, became North Alabama’s first member of ASHI (American Society of Home Inspectors) and the second ASHI member in the state. ASHI is the most respected professional, non-profit, professional home inspection organization in the nation. We are proud to follow their published Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.

Since 1987 we have performed more than 4,000 ASHI Standard Home Inspections. We encourage each of our home inspectors to pursue membership with ASHI and pass the (Southern) Standard Building Code’s “One and Two Family Dwelling” Inspector Certification Exam*. The latter reflects one’s ability to perform building-code compliance inspections of residential-style foundations and building structures, electrical wiring systems, plumbing systems, and heating and cooling systems.
In addition, our inspectors are required to attend continuing eduucation courses and/or ASHI/HomePro seminars, as well as periodic in-house training and discussion sessions. Our standards ensure clients that the home inspector we send to the site is competent and knowledgeable about safe and proper residential construction, as well as interrelated electro-mechanical-plumbing subsystem installation.
We understand that you place a great deal of confidence in (and responsibility on) us when you ask us to perform a home inspection. Our inspector will meet with you at the home site, explain our inspection procedures and introduce you to The HomeBook® reporting system. Once the HomeBook® is completed, it serves as our official home inspection report.
* This exam typically follows a extensive in-house training program and self-paced study of four separate inspection courses offered by the Southern Building Code Congress International in the fields of Building Code Compliance Inspection, Plumbing Code Compliance Inspection, Electrical Code Compliance Inspection and Mechanical Code Compliance Inspection, as they pertain to residential style building structures
